Day to day, Thailand often delivers stronger value — especially for housing quality and dining out. In Ouagadougou, a furnished one-bedroom in a decent area runs around 200,000 CFA per month. In Bangkok, a similar unit in a modern condominium with a pool and gym costs roughly 15,000–20,000 THB (about 250,000–330,000 CFA): comparable in price but far ahead on amenities and build quality. In Chiang Mai, the same money goes much further, with comfortable studios and one-bedrooms often under 10,000 THB (around 165,000 CFA).
Eating out is where Thailand really shines. A plate of pad thai from a street vendor is about 50 THB (roughly 830 CFA), and a full meal at a local restaurant rarely tops 150 THB (around 2,500 CFA) — competitive with, and often cheaper than, an equivalent sit-down meal in Ouagadougou. Public transport, mobile data and coworking desks are all inexpensive. Overall, a single person can live comfortably in Thailand on roughly 25,000–40,000 THB per month, covering rent, food, transport and a healthy social life.
