What is a "Request for Further Document" from the Thai embassy?
After you submit a DTV application, the embassy may change your status to "Request Document" and email you a list of specific extra documents it needs. Your application is paused until you upload exactly what was asked. These guides explain each common request and how to answer it correctly.
Can a wrong answer to a document request cause a rejection?
Yes. If your response does not satisfy the request — wrong format, missing pages, an untranslated document, or extra unrequested information — the application can be rejected and the embassy fee is not refunded. In our experience, since around May 2026 re-applying after a rejection has become much harder, so it is best to answer correctly the first time.
Should I send extra documents to be safe?
No. When responding to a request, send only what was asked — nothing more. Volunteering extra answers or documents often raises new questions and can trigger a rejection. (Being thorough on the initial application is good; over-sharing when responding to a request is not.)
My documents are not in English or Thai. What do I do?
Every document must be in Thai or English. Anything else must be translated, certified and legalized before you submit it. Our team can arrange certified translation and legalization through our partners.
